Job title: Survey Engineer
Location: Pembroke, UK
Salary: 450 p/d

We are currently looking to support our client based in Pembrokeshire, South Wales with a number of requirements taking place on a geophysical survey project. The work scope involves both the nearshore and offshore consenting survey for a planned floating windfarm. These are urgent requirements and will be required for a period of approximately 4 weeks only. Due to the urgency only UK based candidates will be considered due to current quarantine requirements. Valid Bosiet & Medical certificates will also be required.

Job Description:

The following data will be acquired, processed, interpreted and delivered:

  • Multibeam bathymetry
  • Sidescan sonar
  • Sub-bottom profiler, Chirp and Sparker
  • Magnetic gradiometry

The Survey Engineer is responsible for all system integration, set up, operation and maintenance of the survey sensors. They will also provide support to the Online Surveyor during operations to maintain suitable hights off seabed for the towed equipment.

The primary objective is to ensure the company is delivering the highest quality data sets to our Client in a timely manner in line with contract requirements and time frames.

Ensure efficient execution of the contractually agreed survey scope in such a way that the project requirements for field operations are fully met.

  • Installation of survey equipment during the mobilisation.
  • Deck and wet testing of all navigation, positioning and geophysical equipment .
  • Interfacing of equipment to navigation software and helmsman display.
  • Operation of geophysical systems during geophysical data acquisition.
  • Ensuring that any equipment failures are observed, reported and rectified.
  • Proficient in the use of MS applications (Word & Excel).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Team player who is able effectively communicate with other and self-manage workload.
